I tried getting AP Computer Science Principles at my school, but couldn't succeed since it's in its first year. While programming is cool, I think it makes it so that you miss out on a more useful understanding of computers. The whole course is focused on learning programming and the tricky things can be annoying at times. Hey, I'm a senior who has taken AP Computer Science A and I wouldn't recommend it tbh. I made every single session of his class. As a second testament to his quality, I took that class my last semester senior year (well, I changed my major three weeks before the term ended, but that doesn't affect the story). It wasn't what the prof wanted, and he was decidedly not okay with it. Nobody in the class got above 20 points of a possible 100 on the exam-not even that one guy who always did that shit. And when an entire class fails, I have to wonder where I went wrong." The next two weeks were a review of materials already covered because obviously, we hadn't learned it. In my P-chem class, my instructor found himself throwing out an exam and re-giving it because the entire class failed it hard-to the point that the next class, the first words out of his mouth were, "What happened? You guys did terribly on that exam. Organic and physical chemistry are not cakewalks.
